This remix chain brings together producers from around the world, each linked by samples as well as membership of the Ninja Tune record label’s online forum.
It’s apt Ninja Tune has inspired remix projects. The label was established by Coldcut, whose reworking of Eric B and Rakim’s ‘Paid In Full’ in 1987 has been described as a “benchmark remix” by The Guardian newspaper.
The first remix chain was started in England with Kelp’s track ‘Oceandrift’ and the remixes that flowed from the ambient composition featured a variety of electronic music genres.
We begin this 3rd remix chain again in Australia with Tim Koch's track "Toastboat". Tim has been recording music for many years now and has had releases on Ghostly International and cult idm label Defocus as well as being a staple of the late '90s IDM scene under his moniker Thug.
